Take this party outside: Tania Debono

Tania Debono is the third artist we asked to handpaint one of our AM-1 all-weather speakers in our collaboration, Take this party outside, with NY art specialists, KRINK

Tania Debono is the multimedia artist behind TheWriting and is based between New York and Sydney, Australia. With an eye for a simplistic aesthetic, her ambition was to create art through words, penning down inspired truths, cliches and catchphrases overheard in conversations on the streets or created in her mind. Her typography work follows a monochromatic colour palette, with a recognisable bold signature font.

TheWriting launched from the digital space with The Coolhunter at the world first curated temporary exhibition
‘The Art Hunter’ in March 2014 and also a solo large scale public exhibition at The Galeries, Sydney.

Tania’s work has been featured in Vogue, Instyle, Harpers Bazaar, and has penned the marie claire UK cover. Tania
has collaborated with brands such as Oscar de la Renta, Estee Lauder and Lululemon.

Tania’s top 5 tracks for taking the party outside

Flight Facilities – Two Bodies
Jai Paul – BTSTU
Chet Faker – I’m Into You
Peter Bjorn and John – Young Folks
Flume – Ezra

The customised speakers will be exhibited in Rough Trade East throughout July. Visitors to the shop can add to the exhibition by colouring in the huge stencil behind the speakers using KRINK markers.
