The new Zeppelin Air App brings iTunes music collections together wirelessly so several users can build a customized, collaborative community playlist, streamed to any AirPlay-enabled music player such as the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air speaker dock.

Planning a party? Download the free app here to your Apple device, invite your party guests to do the same, and immediately begin streaming everyone’s favourite summer tunes to a playlist you manage on your device. You’ll have a chance to edit your playlist before you send songs wirelessly via the app on your device to your music player. It’s pretty amazing to see your music on your iPhone appear on your friend’s iPhone and start playing on a Zeppelin Air across a room!

No Mac or PC is required to use the app; only a Wi-Fi network. If you already have AirPlay set up on your wireless network, just download the app and give it a try. And if you don’t have AirPlay set up yet, read our blog post to learn how to set it up on the Zeppelin Air. Now everyone can share the magic of AirPlay.

Tyler Fairchild, Director of Strategic Brand Development for Bowers & Wilkins explains,

“For nearly five decades, we have been committed to delivering the ultimate listening experience. This app takes that commitment to the next level by allowing music fans to share in the Bowers & Wilkins true sound experience with family and friends, in real-time, in a familiar setting. We hope that music fans will not only embrace this app as a fun way to share and learn about new music, but also learn about the many benefits of Zeppelin Air and Apple’s revolutionary AirPlay technology from dynamic, engaging and informative content within the app.”

Gizmodo reported on the new Zeppelin Air App as “One more reason to wish we were rich enough to own the fabulous $600 iPod dock.”

AirPlay requires iTunes 10.1 or later and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or later.

  • Dee says:

We need a device that is compatible with our home receivers that allows this airplay feature….currently I have to plug my ipad into my receiver via a 3.5 jack….but if I could just connect to a B$W wireless interface…..then it would be a case of my father having a brother named robert…..cheers

  • John Bachmann says:

If i could stream the playlists from iTunes on my iPad directly to the zepp without having to place each individual song i would be one very happy Tappa!

  • Kirt says:

Great app, been looking for something like it for ages. I would ask that the ability to add multiple songs (plus next to the songs in the list) as well as an entire playlist ect. (App called PlayMyQ as a good way of adding to a playlist, but it’s not a sharing app).

I recon with just this change, It will be the ultimate party and well, everything app!

Mine doesn’t work. It always insists every track in my library is protected and will not stream it!

  • Gavin says:

Is there a way after adding a song to a playlist to go back to where you were?
When going to add another song the list takes you back to the top again, very annoying when halfway done a huge list
