Born from a dream to bring the principles of ‘True Sound’ to modern TVs, and introduced to the world at this year’s IFA 2018 show in Berlin, the Philips OLED+ 903 with Sound by Bowers & Wilkins has already garnered enthusiasm from a variety of news publications, picking up awards along the way too.
The new OLED+ 903 – a result of our exciting partnership with Philips – was presented the prestigious ‘Best Home Theatre TV 2018-2019’ award by EISA last month, with commendations towards the ‘class-leading performance’ of the product.
This award is also joined by an iF World Design Guide award for product’s design, which also mentions the ‘high-end audio reproduction’ of the bespoke sound system.
Featuring new drivers throughout, the sound system is mounted in larger, more rigid and dedicated enclosures, for superb playback in television, movies and music.
A number of news outlets have published hands-on reviews of the product, that are highly complementary towards the Bowers & Wilkins audio experience.
Tech Radar – ‘There’s an impressive heft to the audio, and a far wider soundstage than the OLED 803, giving a depth and presence to low, mid and high frequencies far beyond what you’d expect from such a slim speaker.’
What Hi-Fi? – ‘Philips OLED with B&W sound is worth getting excited about and a £500 premium for a notably better-sounding TV seems a decent trade for us.’
GearOpen praises all aspects of the sound, from the ‘punchy and clean, rather than baggy and detached [bass]’, to the voices that sound ‘exceptionally clean and well rounded’. The reviewer finishes by saying the integrated speaker ‘is good enough to rival many £400-500 sub-free soundbars’.
The class-leading combination of the TV and sound system were also featured in articles by What HiFi?, T3 and Pocket-lint, all of which exclaimed that the resulting product from Bowers & Wilkins and Philips was one of their favourites at IFA 2018.
