Exclusive album from acclaimed jazz vocalist

Ola Onabule. Fotograf: Marcel Sauder - www.foto-shootings.ch

Ola Onabule is not short of great reviews, the Guardian described him as having a “golden voice, with a range and smoothness that recalls singers such as Luther Vandross” and the BBC “as one of the best UK soul vocalists of his time”.

Although less well known in the UK than he should be despite these reviews, 2009 saw the Lagos-born vocalist debut at The Montreal Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival as well as the Blue Balls Festival in Switzerland.

Part of Society of Sound’s remit is to introduce its members to great new music which is beautifully recorded. That’s why we’re very proud to present this album which Ola put together exclusively for Society of Sound members and which we think showcases his extraordinary voice perfectly.

Why is all the metadata blank this time? Maybe better than the spelling mistakes last time, but please can you sort out your production processes so you can deliver complete product?

  • Web Admin says:

Apologies to anyone who is missing the metadata in the FLAC files supplied for Ola Onabule. This is due to a change in production process and should not be a problem from now onwards.

A new set of files will be made available by Tuesday PM with the metadata included for those of you who want it.

  • Web Admin says:

Replacement FLAC format tracks are now available to download with the metadata included for Ola Onabule.

Thank you for updating the files

  • audiman says:

A very fine recording and beautiful music but why not in 24 bit FLAC ? I think this fine artist deserves that.

  • Susanna Grant says:

    Dear Audiman,
I’m really glad you like the recordings, his voice is superb and we’re big fans in the office. We would have loved to have supplied these as 24bit files but unfortunately it would have meant upsampling the original recordings which we do not wish to do.

    Kind regards,
    Susanna
