Bowers & Wilkins at BMW International Open 2018

Watch our highlights at this year’s BMW International Open, featuring a new and improved stand showcasing the latest cutting-edge Bowers & Wilkins products.

Over the course of last week and its end, Golf Club Gut Larchenhof in Cologne played host to some of the most exciting golf talents from around the world on this year’s European Tour, as Andres Romero set out to defend his trophy from the previous year.

The BMW International Open is Germany’s most renowned golf tournament, and relished in its stature as roughly sixty thousand fans descended over its stunning landscape over the duration of the competition.

Along the way, golfers had not only each other to contend with, but also faced challenging weather conditions as strong wind, rain and cloud added an extra level of difficulty for those on the green.

In the end, it was Englishman Matt Wallace who won by just one shot, beating Thorbjorn Olesen who set the clubhouse lead earlier in the day. “Obviously this gives me a lot of confidence to go on and play well,” said Wallace. “I want to kick on and hopefully do this in the bigger events from now on.”

Best ever stand

Bowers & Wilkins are proud to be corporate partners with the tournament, with 2018 marking our third year in Cologne. So to celebrate, we brought our best ever stand with us. On display and available for demonstration was our Diamond Surround Sound System – an audio system featuring advanced acoustic technologies never before seen in a commercial car – housed in both a BMW 5 and 7 Series car.

Alongside in-car audio demonstrations, visitors enjoyed a hands-on look and listen to our award-winning PX headphones at our bespoke headphones bar. Featuring best-in-class sound, smart power and motion sensor technology, PX sets the benchmark for wireless audio performance, coupled with minimalist contemporary design and a seamless user experience.

While the tournament may have finished in Germany, the ever-persevering sportsmen have many more rounds to play, with the Open de France already in full swing (if you’ll mind the pun).
